Heat Pipe

Introduction

A national research organisation is offering technology for heat pipe. Heat pipes are heat transporting devices having very high thermal conductivities. The flow of heat pipes is unidirectional and the thermal conductivity is several hundred times that of copper. The fabrication process is easy and operating temperature range is upto 200 degree celsius.

Marketing of the manufactured product

Marketing should be done by the licensee.

Useful in solar collectors and for heat transfer to and from inaccessible areas. Heat pipes are also useful in plastic moulding, die casting, tool cooling and waste heat extraction.

Solar hot water system based on heat pipe is being developed by the institute
