Introduction

There is a considerable loss in yield of various agricultural crops every year on account of plant pathogens. These pathogens may include bacteria or fungi which cause various types of diseases in the crops. Traditionally, chemical pesticides have been used to control plant diseases and to enhance crop yields. However, the chemical pesticides are not eco- friendly. They cause harmful effects in human beings but the bio-pesticides are eco-friendly and only single application is required in a crop. The technology for production of tricoderma in submerged culture fermentation at 1000 litre fermenter scale has been developed. Sporulation in fermenter is completed in 72 h. The shelf life of formulated spores is about 1 year. The product has been tested in different agro - climatic conditions all over India.
