Process Know How for Production of Stainless Steel Powers
Introductin
A unique process to make stainless steel powders of ASTM
304? grade through a chemical route with no equals in the
market. The yield is 94-96%. The physical and chemical properties
of the powders are as good as stainless steel stock. 86% of
350 mesh size distribution.
Major raw materials
Positive metal salt, acids and acetone. All are indigenously
available

Applications
Used for production of sintered through P/M route, welding
rods, porous thimbles for filters and also for sprayed powder
coatings.
Status of Development
The process is standardised at scale of 5kg/day.
