Technology Description

A shock wave assisted technique has been developed to impregnate preservatives into bamboo (green/dry.). This technology used shock waves generated in a reactor and ensures much faster and more efficient entry of preservative solution into bamboo wood samples.

Applications

This technology will be useful for wood industry involved with preseravative treatment of different species of wood.

Benefits

The time of bamboo treatment comes down from few hours to about 10 min. The reament itself will last only for 1 or 2 millisecond while loading and unloading will take few minutes. The preservative is also able to penetrate through the nods.
