Video Overlay Generator for Boresight Calibration

Technology Description

The technology is video mixing of a calibrated crosshair on incoming boresight video signal. The muzzle (Bore) of a gun needs to be calibrated from time to time. The traditional method is to calibrate muzzles using optical boresighting which was suitable for manual firing. Today, most guns use electro-optical systems where the targeting is done using electro-optical equipment. Our product is the electronic unit for calibrating a gun's bore using an electro-optical process.

Benefits

  • It uses an electronic unit and a bore sight instead of manual calibration using an optical sight.
  • The manual system depends more on the calibrator's perfect vision and how the optical sight is mounted on the barrel. In our technology, Operator error is reduced as long as the bore sight and its collimator is perfectly aligned to the axis of the gun barrel.
  • It is also a cheaper system.
  • Only one person can complete the calibration.
  • Time required for calibration is also reduced.
