Applications

Healthcare and clinical practice

Benefits

There is no similar state of art technolgies existing currently People often get confused with a device called podiascan ( which measures the pressure on the feet and concludes that highest pressure bearing regiuon develops into ulcer in diabetic patient, the flaw here is if intensity of pressure were to cause ulceration then it is atheletes and active adults ( because they exert phenomenal amount of pressure on their feet, who should develop ulcer not diabetic individuals.

People also confuse it with biothesiometer ( A device meant to measure the sensory threshold of patient). This device cannot be used to check the nerve function in the entire feet in 3-4 min. Sometimes callus developed due to physical injury and stress can be diagnosed as sensory neuropathy. According to this test all the manual labourers and rural population shall be diagnosed as having neuropathy because they walk with bare feet.
