Technology Description
An integrated
system to acquire and process digitized heart sound signal
for identification of valvular heart diseases with training,
self-test, report generation and display facilities. The invention
is an integrated system to acquire and process digitized heart
sound signal for identification of valvular heart diseases
with training, self-test, report generation and appropriate
display facilities. In auto mode, decision making is performed
for normal and nine common pathological cases in four different
stages: acquisition of heart sound, segmentation of primary
heart sounds, feature extraction and classification of heart
valve disorders with a certain confidence score developed
from disease model. In manual mode, the first two stage described
above is followed by display of one heart sound cycle, frequency
spectrum and spectrogram (time-frequency information).
The claimed invention consists of four
subsystems:
(i) Data acquisition
(ii) Data compression and decompression
(iii) Recording and display
(iv) Decision-making. It can be used as training device, too.
