Technology
Decholoration with Simultaneous Desulphation

Technology Description

Normally dechloration is necessary in chloralkali industry to avoid its build up.This is being done by dosing concentrated hydro chloric acid and steam heating. Sodium Chlorate decomposes liberating chlorine. In the new process without decomposing sodium chlorate is recovered as a bi product along with edible salt and sodium sulphate. Mother liquor left after recovery of edible salt concentrated with respect to sodium chlorate and sodium sulphate. The remnant liquor is evaporated to recover sodium chlorate product. This process eliminates accumulation of sodium sulphate also in the brine stream of chloroalkali plant this avoidng costly chemical dosing of Barium salts. This process also avoids 70% solid waste in the process. Another valuable bi product is diminerated water used in the same industry. Cost saving are industry specific. But repayment of investment expected in 2 years. 100 m3/day of liquid effluent also gets reduced.
