In-Shoe Data Acquisition System for Diabetic Patients

Technology Description

The technology is an electronic device .The risk of foot ulcer in the diabetic patients can be found using this technology. The patients need not go to Doctor or the clinic each and every time to check the risk of the foot ulcer.

An electronic data acquisition system to measure and record the temperature of the foot is being proposed. This data acquisition system monitors the plantar temperature. The sensors are placed inside the shoe of the patients with Diabetes. The acquired data is stored in a battery powered microcontroller. The stored data is later uploaded to a computer for analysis. The data provides a feedback to patients. The data are analyzed with the reference value and the status of the patient is displayed accordingly.A buzzer is also added which indicates the patients about their risk of foot ulcer.
