Technology Description
Our product is a robust decision support
system for supply chain management (and similar domains),
which offers information useful for making strategic (e.g.
investment) and tactical (e.g. purchasing) decisions about
inventory, purchasing, capacity planning, etc. The answers
produced form a natural hierarchy based on increasing amount
of assumptions driving the design. The amount of information
driving the design is also quantified based on information
theoretic concepts. Our product has convenient ways for (a)
specifying design information using constraints (b) analyzing
information using both relational algebra and information
theoretic concepts, and (c) robust optimization techniques
based on convex programming. As far as we can make out, it
is unique in its ability to both specify uncertainty and quantify
it based on Shannon theory. We have filed PCT applications
for this.
