Technology Description
The technology is novel titanium based
gel adsprbant and photocatlyst for the separation of organic
dyes from aqueous solution and its further photocatalytic
degradtaion using solar light. This novel gel adsorbs the
organic dyes from aqueous solution and when exposed to solar
radiation the adsorbed dye gets degraded. This technology
will be helpful for removal of organic dyes and colored materails
from effleunts originated from textile and other industries
generating colured aqueous effluent.
Applications
This technology will be helpful for effluent treatment from
textile and other industries generating colored effluent to
solve the pollution control problem.
Benefits
The present state of art for effluent treatment is the adsorption
of colored dyes from aqueous solution using adsorbent like
activated charcoal etc. which cause secondary pollution because
the adsorbed dye do not get degraded but comes out at the
time of regeneration of the activated caharcoal and needs
further treatment. Where as in present case the adsorbed dye
can be degraded by phtocatalytic degradadtion and does not
need furtehr treatment. The adsorption capacity of the present
adsorbent is quite high compared to the conventional adsorbent.
