Technology Description

This technology is a unique hardware tool, embedded with software to teach state of the art fiber optic communication technology.

• This fiber optic training kit is known as the "Light Runner".
  
• Four different versions are available depending on the customer's needs, such as training on wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) or Erbium-Doped Fiber Amplifiers (EDFA).
  
• Up to 16 experiments are available with the Light Runner.
  
• This technology was developed to train engineering and science students, and industry telecommunication professionals.
  
• There is a shortage of proper training opportunities as the telecommunication industry continues to grow and innovate using fiber optic technology.
  
• This training kit uses some off-the-shelf components common in the fiber optic industry, but its overall design is to be used as a stand-alone product.
