Technology Description
The technology is a device that converts solar energy into
PV DC power using Ga.As. Mj. Ml. concentrator solar cell &
into thermal energy in concentrated form & transport to
usage point. It is concentrated solar power collector and
converting device, converts into DC power and traps thermal
energy in a receiver and transports to a convenient user point.
Device collects solar energy converges to a small area, converts
into usable form of energy PV DC & thermal energy using
Ga.As.Mj.Ml. concentrated solar cell housed in a designed
receiver.
Concentrator solar cell is Ga. As. multi layer multi junction
cell is used can handle 1500 sun intensity and covert entire
solar spectrum into DC power at 39 % efficiency & balance
into into thermal energy. it require a receiver fraction of
area of aperture opening proportion to sun intensity. convergent
solar ray require sun tracker that collects maximum energy
at uniform rate to collect 30 % more energy.
Applications
PV power for utility power grid feed. Modular dishes laid
in rows and gangs generate Mw power. The hybrid module can
be roof mounted for 1 Kwe or laid in rows and gangs to produce
Mwe for grid feed.
Benefits
The solar cell used is of 39 % efficient compared to 15 %
available cell. Both PV and thermal energy are collected &
used.
One sun passive diffuse rays with si.solar pv cell convert
15 % into dc & dissipate heat into atmosphere. This innovative
hybrid receiver collect both pv dc & thermal energy totally.
