Technology Description
This technology
is an integrated imaging solution using hardware and software
to count and confirm the contents of a package along its logistical
supply chain.
- This technology uses existing technologies,
but applies them in a new manner.
- It uses software and hardware to monitor
the contents of a package, similar to RFID methods, but
is inherently different in that it was designed for tampering
uses.
- The system is designed with existing
technologies originally used for imaging uses, but is now
being applied to improve logistics.
- Its development was not to simply track
contents from one location to another, but to monitor contents
with a technology that acquires its credentials automatically.
- Its uniqueness is that if any tampering
takes place the tag will auto-acquire a new credential that
can then be determined by external monitoring.
- Tags used provide non-hardware, non-software
usable per item solution.
- This technology was developed for companies
in the logistics industry that ship many high value consignment
items.
- The process can be adopted by
any logistic company with minimal training and change to
established procedures.
