Technology
Complete Recycling of Beverage Cartons

Technology Description

This technology is a pulping process to separate the components of a used beverage carton into two main components: paper and a plastic and aluminum composite. The recovered paper pulp is further use in manufacture of recycled paper, and use of the balance content to produce either roofing sheets for low cost housing applications or to produce fuel and recover secondary aluminum for further recycling.

Potential Benefits

Adds value to the Polyethylene/Aluminum materials which presently is a difficult to recycle product. Helps reduce landfill waste by recovering all of the constituent materials of the beverage cartons. The roofing material replaces asbestos and concrete roofing sheets.
