Technology Description

The technology is a device which provides quick estimation of biochemical oxygen demand (BOD)/ pollutional load of all kinds of waste waters. The developed BOD biosensor is capable of determining pollutional load (BOD) of all types of waste waters in two hours time as against 3 days in Indian scenario and 5 or 7 days in global scenario.

This technology finds application in all industries emanating polluted waste water.

Benefits

The know how is useful for determining the pollutional load of waste-waters being emanated from different industries in a very short time thus enabling the users to discharge the waste waters into water bodies judiciously and with responsibility ie after proper treatment. It will also help the monitoring/implementing authorities to monitor and regulate the quality of waste water being emanated from the respective industries.
