An improved process for the treatment of tannery effluents

Introduction

The process involves anaerobic treatment followed by wet air oxidation using granular activated carbon eliminating almost 92% of suspended solids, 98% BOD, 85% COD, 100% sulfide, 100% odour while the pH of the processed liquor lies very close to neutral range facilitating easy disposal of the processed water

Machinery / Equipments: Wet air oxidation reactor, activated carbon, compressor, primary clarifier
