Introduction

Used as a retanning as well as self tanning material.The process involves sulfonation of aromatic products, condensation, complexation and spray drying.

Application/Uses:

The product affords rich and uniform dyeing that helps to obtain soft and full leathers without a loaded feel. The product exhibits high exhaustibility(>96%) and high affinity to the vegetable tanned leathers.

Environmental Aspects: Needs appropriate effluent disposal systems

Machinery / Equipments: Spray drier; Glass lined reactor; Neutralisation vessels; Filtration assembly, Boilers etc.

Raw Materials: Aromatic compounds; Sulphuric acid; Amino resins; Chromium compounds; Aluminium compounds.

Techno Economics: Estimated investment for a plant of 1 TPD (2 shifts) is around Rs. 8 millions. Alutan another retanning agent can also be made in the same plant.

Technology Package: Process knowhow, process demonstration, quality assurance methods, project report, training of personal, assistance in implementation, data on effluents.
