Computer based Hospital Information Management System (HIMS)

Introduction

A computer based Hospital Information Management System has been developed for information management in a health care centre. This is a software package for processing and management of various hospital information. The entire system consists of various information modules catering to different activities of a hospital. The information is fed into the computer through interactive terminals using various specially designed computer screen forms. The centralized information can be accessed from any place in the hospital complex through the distributed terminals. The advantages of the system are availability of an orderly set of patient information, faster retrieval of documents, decentralised access to data bank, systematic archival, uniformity in information format, better clarity, higher accuracy etc.
