Polyester Film Capacitor Making Plant

Introduction

A capacitor is an electric circuit element that basically consists of two conductors separated by a nonconductor. The capacitor is as important as resistor and inductor in modern electrical and electronics equipment, particularly in radio, telephone and television equipment. For example, a typical television set has approximately 100 capacitors. Capacitors are widely used because they can store electrical energy in a circuit. Also, they are an essential element in a tuned circuit.

Areas of Application

Capacitor come in many types, such as ceramic capacitor, the paper capacitor, the plastic film capacitor, the metal silicon dioxide silicon capacitor and the metallized film capacitor. Each type has its advantages depending on its application. Polyester film capacitors have metal plates and a dielectric film made of polyester which are designed primarily for use in coupling, decoupling and filters for electronic circuits of low voltage. The capacitors can be used for power factor correction in electric power systems and for energy storage with subsequent rapid capacitor discharge in industrial electronics application.
