Automated Ultrasonic Non Destructive Characterisation

Introduction

A Manual Ultrasonic flaw detector has been interfaced to a Personal Computer to automate the non - destructive characterization of solids. The system presently comprises of the detector, a digitising oscilloscope and the PC. The software is in HP - BASIC. The data is stored in the buffer of the digitising oscilloscope and then transferred to the PC. From there a 3-D image of the object, with flaws if any is generated.
