Proteases for Synthesis of Peptides in Organic Silvents

Introduction

Mutants of Bacillus with higher levels of protease activity have been isolated by in vitro mutagenisis and solvent overlay methodology. Proteases obtained from these mutants have shown appreciable synthetic activity. These proteases have significant value for the synthesis of high value peptide pharmaceuticals.
