Double Drum Husk/Wood Stove
Introduction
The double drum husk/wood stove has been developed to meet
the fuel shortage situations by using waste materials as fuel
which are thrown away and discarded by rural people such as
wheat straw aggregates(of bigger knot sizes) , rice husk and
cow dung cake dust etc., can be conveniently used as fuel
and stove is adequate for complete cooking for a family of
5-7 persons.
Special Features:
A double drum stove is made of two cylindrical drums with
outer drum having 30 cm diameter and 35 cm height and inner
dia is 20cm and 25cm height. The gap between the two is filled
with insulating material upto 25cm height. The exposed portion
above the inner drum is generally covered with metallic sheet
to avoid the loss of insulation while tilting the drum to
retain the burnt fuel after the operation. Two holes of dia
5cm are made one each in the drums on the base at a height
of 5cm from the bottom. Fuel, such as wood dust, rice husk
and drained around apipe of 5cm dia kept at the centre which
is removed. Wood saving can be filled in the inner drum and
rammed around a pipe of 5 cm dia. Kept at the center which
is removed after proper filling.
