Technology
Elastic Copolyurethane Suture

Introduction

Wound closure materials - a) suture materials (widely used) b) biadhesive materials c) stapler materials As there is requirement of sutures of different kinds of materials polymeric to match physical propshas of tissues whose it will be used. This leads to development of sutures from new polymeric materials. New varity of polyurethane material having properties to match the mechanical properties of tissue has been developed. This can be used as suture material.

Special Features: general surgical application, cardiovascular application, musculo skeletal application, cutaneous & pericutaneous application, soft tissue application.

Prospective Users: Medical Hospitals/Clinics

Keywords: Polyurethane, suture, polymeric materials

Glossary: Suture - A suture is a strand of material either natural or synthetic used to ligate blood vessels and tissues together
