Groundwater
Pollution Modeling
Introduction
A numerical model has been developed
to model the flow conditions and transport of pollutant, emanating
from various sources, within the groundwater system. The model
utilizes the FDM for solving the coupled set of flow and transport
equations with appropriate initial and boundary conditions.
The model can also simulate leachate migration and effluent
movement within the sub surface and groundwater zones. The
model can address a number of groundwater problems including
groundwater pollution containment, short and long-term groundwater
resources availability of desired quality and quantity, and
optimal estimation of number of wells and its location for
groundwater exploitation.
Special Features:
Numerical Model for solving various kinds
of groundwater pollution problems , Short and long term analysis
for groundwater resources availability. Optional estimation
of number of wells and its location for groundwater exploitation.
Prospective Users:
Government & Private organizations
involved in groundwater resources planning, development and
management.Industry withdrawing groundwater for supply or
discharging polluting and non-polluting effluents.
