Bit Seismic Data Recorder and Analyzer
Brief Description
The
complete design is based on modular construction by using
- Signal Conditioning module, Digital Signal Processor module,
Analog to Digital Converter module and Precision Digital Timing
module. Recording media for this system has been used very
low power CMOS Static RAM of capacity 4 MB that is expandable
up to 16 MB. Therefore, system can record field Seismic Event
Data for months together as per event frequency. The system
has inbuilt interface for connecting the system with any PC/LAP
TOP through a standard RS-232 interface for the configuration
of the instrument and event data transfer. The highly precision
digital timing system has been incorporated by using Temperature
Controlled Crystal Oscillator, with a provision to synchronization
with ATA/WWV standard time signal transmitted from NPL, New
Delhi and USA. The complete instrument software and seismic
signal analysis software has been developed for parameters
setting and its verification, digital signal processing, data
transferring & retrieval and seismic data. The stored
seismic data has been formatted/converted into an international
standard format, which is compatible with standard SEISAN
Seismic Signal Analysis software; therefore, the instrument
can be used globally.
Salient Features
- High capacity CMOS Solid State Memory Suitable for recording
seismic events for long-term in remote areas.
- Accepts 3 sensors, which can be -seismometers, accelerometers
or a combination of the two.
- Programmable sampling rate, 300 sps for single channel
and 100 sps for 3 channels.
- Selectable triggering facilities in two different modes
viz. STA, LTA ratio and band pass filtered threshold.
- Facilities provided for setting & Editing of field
parameters. Display of timing & auxiliary information
available on demand.
- In data transfer mode, instrument is connected via RS-232
interface to PC/ Laptop computer that acts as control terminal
for the instrument.
- Equipped with the Parameter Setting, Review/ verification
Software, Data retrieval software, and Quick-look waveform
analysis software and event wise extraction software facility.
- Data recorded by the instrument can be analyzed using
internationally available standard software i.e. SEISAN
etc.
