Touch Pad & Word Editor

This is a user friendly GUI developed for patient with movement deficits. A specially designed 'Touch Pad' along with its 'Word Editor' software helps to access many features of the Microsoft word and to access the Internet as well. The easy to use key pad is designed as per the residual ability of the patient. The present design of key pad have eight touch points which emulates a normal keyboard and activates the specially designed menu screen for the user. The entire system could be customized as per the requirement of the user. 

Areas of Applications: Rehabilitation of handicapped people who have multiple physical disabilities.

Advantages: Low cost, portable  electronic communication aid.

Stage of Development: Lab model and prototype completed.

Inputs required: 

Electronic Components (Bread Boards, PCB's, Resistors, Transistors, Relays, IC's etc), Soldering Station, PCB Fabrication Unit, Testing Workbench (30 MHz CRO, Function Generator, Power Supply etc.), Workstations with Relevant Software for Programming & for PCB designing.

Economic Data: Rs. 42,000/- (Approx) excluding cost of PC.

Transfer forms: Technology transfer through FITT, IIT Delhi.
