Palm Oil Extraction
Introduction
Palm oil is extracted
from fresh oil palm fruit bunches. This is a wet process involving
operations like (1) sterilization (2) stripping (3) digestion
(4) pressing (5) classification (6) purification (7) vacuum
drying.
The process is designed to suit indigenous Requirements in
terms of plant size and Operational logistics. It gives edible
grade Red palm oil with less than 3% FFA content and
0.1% moisture
