Manufacture of Chlorpyriphos

Introduction

Trichloroacetyle chloride and acrylonitrile are reacted to give an intermediate which is neutralized before being reacted chlorpyriphos (Tech.). Chlorpyriphos (Tech) is indigenously developed using TCAC as starting raw material avoiding Pyridine, which is a starting raw material in conventional processes. CPP 99% is exportable to developed / developing countries & IICT can provide process knowhow. CPP can be commercialized or retrofitted into existing pesticide manufacturing unit.

Advantages

By using TCAC as starting raw material the Chlorpyriphos (tech) technology is indigenously manufactured.

Applications

Broad spectrum organophosphorous insecticide for wide range of crops. Control of soil insects and some foliar insect pests on a wide range of crops, including pome fruit, stone fruit, citrus fruit, nut crops, strawberries, figs bananas, vines, vegetables, potatoes, beat, tobacco, soyabeans, ice, cotton, lucerene, cereals, maize, surghum, asaparagus, glasshouse and outdoor ornamentals, mushrooms, turf and in forestry. Control of insect pests in stored products, household insect pests (including ants and cockroaches), flies and other insects in animal houses mosquitoes (Adults & Larvae), also used as an animal ectroparasiticide.
