Manufacture of Magnesia Spinelide Refractory (MSR) Bricks

Introduction

Magnesia Spinelide refractory (MSR), an improved basic brick made from low grade raw materials, is coating-friendly and highly resistant to clinker melt. The main features are its relatively higher hot modulus of rupture (HMOR) and resistance to thermal spalling. "NCB-MSR" bricks have successfully been tried under severe thermo-chemical stress in sintering zone of cement rotary kiln resulting in 60% increase in lining life.

Application/Uses:

Construction industry, refractory materials/ceramics: cement rotary kiln system, particularly for use in its burning zone

Advantages: Higher lining life Quick pick up and stabilization Lower kiln shell temperature

Development Status: Commercialised
