of society including government and the public. Chandigarh
Administration is committed to providing a responsive and
effective administration for the welfare of the public keeping
in view the national objectives. Chandigarh Administration
recognises the need to harness the growing power of I.T.
for the betterment of the life of the residents of the Union
Territory of Chandigarh.

Whereas it is considered necessary
and expedient to promote the Industry in general, including
the Knowledge Industry comprising IT, IT Enabled Service and
Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) Companies in Chandigarh
to generate employment, increase exports and boost the economy.
ITES Policy
To accelerate the Economic growth of
Chandigarh by leveraging the potential for IT and ITES in
the city, and creating a competitive knowledge base for
sustaining the growth of the industry.
Bio Technology Policy New
Biotechnology is defined as the controlled
use of biological agents, i.e. micro organisms or cellular
components, for the benefit of humanity. It is a multi disciplinary
field of activities which relies on the integration of all
life sciences and several physical sciences including Biology,
Biochemistry, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Nanotechnology,
Bio-informatics, Chemical Engineering and Process Engineering,
in a manner that optimizes the exploitation of their potential.
