Efforts have been made
in developing alternative building materials in the
CBRI, Roorkee. These would be helpful in saving our
precious forest and environment efficiently and economically
from commercial exploitation. The developed materials
are mostly wood alternatives used in construction for
door shutters, frames, false ceiling, thermal insulation
and similar other applications.
Amla is a gift of nature to mankind. It is an indispensable
part of the Ayurvedic and Unani system of medicine.
Amla has amazing remedial qualities. There are two varieties
of amla, cultivated and wild. The wild amla is small,
hard and has lots of fiber while the cultivated amla
is big, smooth and juicy. The fruit of the amla tree
possess medicinal value. It is basically sour but at
times it is sweet and pungent also.
The onion, Allium cepa, is a monocotyledon of the family
Alliaceae which is by far the most economically important
bulb vegetable. It is thought that the onion originated
in Persia cultivated by the Egyptians and brought to
India by East India Company.

chemical and moisture resistance, greater workability
of versatile components all require materials of greater
adaptability. It has been projected that high value
added materials are greatly accepted only when for advancement
of aviation technology, which proportionate the different

Chicken eggs are the most commonly eaten eggs and are
highly nutritious. These are used in a variety of dishes

powder, albumen flakes, yolk, natural yellow pigment
obtained from yolk are used in pharmaceutical industry.
Indian Textile Industry plays a pivotal role through
its contribution of about 14% to industrial production,
4% to GDP and 16.63% to export earnings. Its share in
global textiles and apparel is 3.9% and 3% respectively.
The plastic wastes could be used in road construction
and the field tests withstood the stress and proved
that plastic wastes used after proper processing as
an additive would enhance the life of the roads and
also solve environmental problems. The present paper
highlights the developments in using plastics waste
to make plastic roads.
The supply chain supports the satisfaction
of end-user requirements. Information and financial
components are as important as physical flow in the
supply chains. The price becoming a major competitive
advantage, manufacturers now compete less on product
and quality, which are often comparable and more on
inventory turns and speed to market.
