Process for beneficiation of low grade bauxite ore (with
ferruginous/silicious impurities) for metallurgical
refractory use.
Uses:
Bauxite for production of aluminium, abrasives, refractories,
cement and chemicals.

Features: Simple process for lowering of silica
and iron and enrichment of alumina.
Environmental
Considerations: No deletarious effects on environment
from process rejects.
Scale of Development:
25 tpd scale.
Commercialisation
Status: Ready for commercialisation.
Major Raw Materials:
Bauxite ore, flotation reagents (if required).
Major Plant/Equipment/Machinery:
Crusher, Scrubber, Grinder, Magnetic separator, Flotation
unit, Filter, Thickener (a combination of one or more
units depending upon the nature of the raw material).
Techno-Economics:
To treat 1 ton/hr, a capital cost of 180-240
lakhs depending upon the unit operations required.
Technology Package:
Raw material evaluations, process know-how, technological
flow sheet with material balance, equipment details.
Assistance in setting up and commissioning of the plant
on separate terms.
