-Computer Software for Design of Reinforced
Concrete Column
Introduction
Columns are important structural elements which support
floors and roof and transfer the load to the ground
through foundation. As such the columns have to be built
with careful design. The existing method of design using
interaction curve for axial force and uni-axial moment
is available for circular and rectangular sections only.
The proposed computer software programme can be used
for design of columns of any cross section such as regular
and irregular including solids or hollow sections and
any reinforcement details.
Salient features:
Can be used for design of column of any cross-section
including solid and hollow sections and any reinforcement
detailing; Generates data for eleven shapes and cross-sections
as shown in Fig. 1.
