Chemicals
based Technologies-Complex
Liquid Fertilizer Manufacturing Process
The Asia Pacific Center for Trade
and Technology, on behalf of an Indian company, is offering
a technology for the manufacture of complex liquid fertilizer.
The technology involves a chemical
reaction wherein potassium nitrate is ammoniated at
25-30°C in the presence of ammonia and ammonium
chloride. The ammoniated potash is neutralized using
phosphoric acid at 120°C. The white viscous liquid
mass obtained is cooled down to room temperature and
transferred to storage tank
The product is claimed to be 100 percent
water soluble, with pH of 4 to 6, and N:P:K ratio of
1:2:1. It can be used with drip irrigation or made into
a foliar spray.
It is claimed that crop yield increased
by 30 percent with the application of said fertilizer.
The technology offers cleaner production process since
the emission of ammonia can be controlled by absorbing
it in phosphoric acid, with ammonium phosphate as a
by-product.
Production capacity is 30,000 tons
per year. The project cost is estimated at USD 7 million.
The technology has been patented.
Preferred forms of cooperation are
patent sale, know-how, consultancy, technical assistance
and training.
