Meghalaya- Investment Incentives

Incentive Schemes

This scheme may be called the Meghalaya Tourism Incentive Scheme 2001.

Effective date of commencement and period of operation

It will come into effect from the 15th February 2001 and shall remain in operation till such time as the government may deem fit.
Aims and Objectives

Eligibility

Tourism Units fulfilling the following criteria shall be eligible for the grant of subsidies/incentives viz:

  • That the units shall be registered permanent/final with the State Director of Tourism.

Mode of Application

  • Agency, i.e., the Director of Tourism, Meghalaya.
Sanction of Incentives

The State Level Committee shall recommend sanction of eligible subsidy claims.

State Level Committee

The functions of the State Level Committee shall be to

Scrutinize the claim applications and recommend the cases for sanctions as may be found eligible.

  • Monitor and review the progress of implementation of the Scheme from time to time
  • Issue instructions, if necessary, for proper implementation of the scheme and

Disbursement

  • On receipt of the financial sanction, the Director of Tourism shall draw the amounts due for disbursement to the eligible tourism units.

Miscellaneous

  • Government may, from time to time amend the provision of this scheme as may be felt necessary in the interest on the tourism units.
