Merely 180 km from Ahmedabad, Abu Road has emerged as a potential industrial destination. Around 1400 arces of land has been developed as industrial areas. RIICO has spent Rs. 50 crores in developing the basic infrastructure in these areas. Presently 250 industries are in production here.   

Industrial area is spread over an expanse of 2000 acres. Rs. 50 crores has been spent by RIICO on the development of basic infrastructure in Sirohi Distt.

Of the 250 units, 22 have been assisted by RIICO. In Abu Road itself, Rs. 150 crores have been invested through large scale industries.

Water :  Ground water is the main source of meeting water needs at Abu Road. It is available at an average depth of 12 metres and is potable and of good quality. The water analysis reports indicate it amply. Depth of boring required is 40 to 60 metres.

The total supply of water in Industrial Areas of Abu Road is about 30 lac litres per day. It is through six high level reservoirs and seven clear water reservoirs.
