Addl. Ambernath is Host to leading
industrial giants.
MIDC
has planned to develop 507 hectares of land as Additional
Ambernath Industrial Area near Ambernath. The area is
located on MIDC's service road along B.G. main about
3 kms. away from Ambernath railway station. Out of 507
hectares of land proposed 503 hectares of land has come
under MIDC's possession. Out of this 125 hectares of
land has been developed as Engineering zone, 80 hectares
of land each is being developed for Knitwear and Leather
complex, 40 hectares of land is being developed for
institutional zone. The Export Promotion Industrial
park ( EPIP) is part of the Additional Ambernath Industrial
Area and is spread over 80 hectares. The EPIP Knitwear
Hosiery and Leather units have been provided 30 hectares
each, the other 20 hectares are meant for other units.

International Airport and Santacruz
Airport are at a distance of 60 kms. from the Industrial
Area.
MIDC has constructed its own helipad.
Kalyan is the nearest junction
of central railway for Ambernath station and is about
3 kms. away from it.
MIDC's service road along B.G. main is about 3 kms.
away from Ambernath railway station.
Infrastructure
The Industrial Estate
boasts of High Quality Infrastructure.
Electricity
The MSEB is the authority to supply power to the industries
in this area has a capacity of 220 mva.
Water
The MIDC has made its own arrangement
for supplying filtered and disinfected water to the
industrial units in the area. Water lifted from Ulhas
and Barvi River through Jackwell is brought to the water
treatment plant in the area.

Present capacity of this scheme is 3.5
million litres of water per day.
Roads
MIDC has provided asphalt roads of
length having width varying from 3.75 to 16 mts. in
Additional Ambernath Industrial Area asphalt roads are
mainly two lane roads having central verge with plantation
of bougainvillea and raised footpath on both sides of
road.
Connectivity
Fax, telex E-Mail and Internet are
available in Additional Ambernath Industrial Area. Telephone
exchange is situated in Additional Ambernath Area.
Residential Facility
Additional Ambernath Industrial Area
is near the Ambernath Industrial Area and away from
2 kms. from the Ambernath city, hence residential facility
is also available in that area.
Drainage
MIDC has constructed common effluent
treatment plant of capacity 7.5 mld. on order to treat
effluent from Knitwear and Leather zone. This confirms
to standards prescribed by Maharashtra Pollution Control
Board ( MPCB ). Treated effluent will be discharged
in Waldhuni Nallah.
Support facilities
Fire Station
Considering planned development in
Additional Ambernath Industrial Area the requirement
of fire station was necessary, MIDC has constructed
fire station having area 3600 sq.mts. inclusive of following
units
i ) Engine room with fire station office and officers
quarters.
ii) Fireman quarters.
iii) Smoke room tower.
iv) Service pit and suction tank.
Education And Manpower
Skilled manpower and labour are easily
available. There are number of secondary and higher
secondary, technical engineering management and computer
training institutes in Dombivli, itself that makes the
city self sufficient in the field of education and profession.
Recreation
This Industrial Area has sports stadiums,
swimming pools, theatres, branches of Rotary and Lions
clubs and also good hotels and guest houses which offer
modern accommodation facilities. There are tourist place
like Barvi dam, Birla temple, Durgadi fort, etc. and
pilgrimage centres like of Shrimalang Gadh Shiv Mandir
(Ambernath).
Transport
Auto rickshaws, municipal bus services and S.T. buses
offer quick local transport.
Banking Facilities
There are full fledged branches of nationalised and
co-operative banks in Ambernath city.
Common Facility
Centre
A common facility centre has been
developed by MIDC near the helipad with pleasant elevation.
This structure has ground + 3 stories. In CFC building,
six showrooms having area of 75 sq,m. at ground floor
are provided, 35 nos. of galas are available measuring
area of 71.50 sq.m. each at first and second floor for
offices. Provision for a bank having an area of 680
sq. m. is available at the ground and first floor.12
hotels rooms measuring area of 86 m3 each at third floor
have also been provided.
Helipad
MIDC has constructed its own helipad.
This will facilitate visits by both entrepreneurs and
their customers. The Sahara International airport and
Santacruz airport are 60 kms. away ensuring convenience
from airport to site.
Street
MIDC has provided street light facility
at Additional Ambernath Industrial Area street lights
have been erected in a central verge at a distance of
30 mts. apart. There are a total 650 nos. of street
lights provided to illuminate the Industrial Area during
night hours.
Plot
MIDC has provided 80 hectares land
for the EPIP Knitwear hosiery and Leather units have
been provided in 30 hectares each. The other 20 hectares
are meant for other units.
Knitwear and Leather Complex being
developed by MIDC:
Knitwear Complex:
A total 80 hectares of land has been
earmarked for developing this complex. There will be
96 galas ready for occupation of factories, each measuring
410 sq.mts. on the ground floor and 287 sq.mts. on first
floor. To facilitate expansion if necessary more space
will be readily available.
Leather Complex:
80 hectares of land has been proposed
for setting up the leather complex. 30 hectares of land
has been earmarked for tanneries and remaining 50 hectares
has been set aside for footwear and leather goods manufacturing
units. MIDC has constructed 2 buildings for work cum
residential buildings and one for work modules.
Institutional Zone:
One building to accommodate Research
Training Institute and design studies has been constructed
by MIDC to promote excellence in quality and design
branches of Central Leather Research Institute (CLRI
). Footwear Design and Development Institute (FDDI)
