Karnataka - Bidadi Industrial
Estate
The Bidadi Industrial Area is being
developed by the KIADB in an area extending over 1700
acres. This industrial area, which is located off the
existing Bangalore - Mysore state highway, is just 35
kms from Bangalore. With the completion of the proposed
4-line express highway connecting Bangalore and Mysore,
the travel time to and from Bangalore will be further
reduced.
The infrastructure that is being established
at the Bidadi Industrial Area will ensure that industries
here will have a head start :
Power : 220/66
K.V. station with 2x100 MVA Transformer Capacity. 66/11
K.V. sub-station with 2x20 MVA Transformer Capacity.
Water : An
exclusive water supply scheme to draw 2.5 MGD of water
from the river, Cauvery is being implemented. This will
be supplemented by water from borewells to the extent
of 1 MGD and 5 MGD through recycling of water in Byramangala
reservoir.
Telecommunication
: A separate telephone exchange is being established
which will be connected to Bangalore and other centres
through optical fibres. KIADB is also arranging the
release of telephones bulk booked to entrepreneurs here.

incentives and concessions that makes the Bidadi
Industrial Area even more attractive for entrepreneurs
:
Investment Subsidy
: Tiny sector Industries are eligible for
investment are eligible for investment subsidy to an
extent of 25% of the value of fixed assets, subject
to a ceiling of Rs. 25 lakhs.
Sales Tax Concessions
: Being classified as a developing area,
industries in Bidadi Industrial Area have the benefit
of sales tax exemption or deferral as the choice
may be. Tiny industries are exempt from payment of sales
tax for a period of 6 years and upto a ceiling
of 100% of value of fixed assets. Medium and large industries
enjoy the benefit of exemption for 5 years and
upto a ceiling of 100% of value of fixed assets.
In case deferral is opted for, the period for
Tiny and SSI units is 8 years where as that for Medium
and Large Scale units is 7 years. The benefits will
also be available to existing units that wish
to undertake expansion with project located here.
Thrust sector
Industries : Sales tax exemption or deferral
will be extended for an additional year in case
of industries being identified as thrust sector
industries.
Mega Projects
: Projects with an investment in fixed assets
exceeding Rs. 100 crores shall be considered for
a special incentive package depending on the factors
such as range of investment, scope for downstream industrial
development, employment potential etc.
The advantages that Bidadi Industrial
Area offers has already attracted large multinationals.
Toyota Kirloskar Motors, a joint venture of the
world famous Toyota Corporation of Japan has already
been allotted 430 acres of land for the manufacture
of automobiles. Coca Cola India Ltd. has also
planned to set up a plant on 15 acres of land here.
Many shown interest in establishing industries at
Bidadi.
Simplified procedures and time bound
clearances have made the establishment of an industry
at the Bidadi Industrial Area fast and easy. A high
level committee headed by the minister for large and
medium scale Industries is responsible for projects
with an investment exceeding Rs. 50 crores. Projects
with lower investment are cleared by a state level
Single Window Agency headed by the Principal Secretary,
Commerce and Industries Dept, Govt. of Karnataka. KIADB
assumes responsibility for the allotment of land on
a time bound basis.
